| I was born in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1976. I grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. I have a twin sister, and two older brothers. I have always taken art subjects through out my schooling including art history and I have completed various art courses on leaving school, including textile design and fine arts. I then decided to pursue a career as a Teacher and I taught for two years. I have steadily painted throughout my life but only became serious about selling my art early in 2006. I now exhibit in the Kiwi Art House Gallery, located in upper Cuba St, Wellington. I love to use bright vibrant colours to depict New Zealand Landscapes. A favourite scene to paint is Somes (Matiu) Island in the Wellington Harbour with native New Zealand flax which is prominent in most vantage points when viewing the island. I draw inspiration from photographs that I have taken myself and translate this into my unique painting style. As an emerging artist I like to pitch my work as "affordable" so please feel free to contact me and enquire about commissions. This is certainly an affordable option for everyone to have a piece of original New Zealand art in their home or office I have sold work at the renowned Wellington Affordable Art show. |
